Complications in Implant Dentistry

| 13 CE Credits Prerequisites: None
Complications in Implant Dentistry Although implant survival is extremely high, complications can and do arise in patients during the placement, healing, prosthetic, or recall phases of treatment.

In this workshop, we will examine what are the most common surgical and prosthetic complications, the data behind their occurrences and prognosis, and examine the various ways to treat these adverse outcomes.

HANDS-ON EXERCISES TO TEACH YOU HOW TO ADDRESS THESE COMPLICATIONS:

• A loose cement retained implant crown
• A stripped screw
• A stripped healing abutment
• Using a fragment fork or removal kit for a fractured screw
• Digging out a fractured abutment
• Trephining out a fractured implant
• Using a removal kit to get out a fractured implant

Clinical Accelerator education vouchers accepted.

Staff seating is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Anyone attending at the team member registration rate will NOT have their own hands-on kits. Bringing more than two assistants is highly discouraged due to spacing.

Participants Will Learn:

  • The various complications that can occur during the surgical placement of dental implants.
  • How to triage, diagnose, and treat the most common prosthetic complications that occur in everyday practice.
  • The principles to help minimize implant complications and failure in future patients.
