Treating Soft Tissue Defects Around Teeth and Implants (CI270)

This workshop is intended for doctors who wish to obtain the skills to incorporate esthetic periodontal plastic surgical procedures into their armamentarium for the treatment of soft tissue defects around teeth and implants. The biological principles for these soft tissue grafting procedures will be reviewed and the rational for the various techniques described. Step-by-step surgical soft tissue grafting procedures utilizing autogenous grafts, allografts, and xenografts will be presented in detail including specific soft tissue management techniques and suturing techniques. Course participants will have the opportunity to perform these techniques during specifically designed hands-on exercises.
Participants will be able to obtain an in-depth knowledge of soft tissue grafting techniques to achieve predictable coverage of recession defects around teeth and implants, to increase the attached and keratinized tissues around teeth and implants, to perform phenotype enhancements via tissue thickening around teeth and implant sites.
