Fundamentals of Clear Aligner Therapy | 13 CE Credits


Fundamentals of Clear Aligner Therapy Attendees will participate in an engaging and informative overview of orthodontics. We will revisit the salient aspects of orthodontic tooth movement, occlusion, diagnosis, and treatment planning as it pertains to the restorative dental practice and as taught in dental school. The course will also begin to introduce aligner therapy and the SureSmile® Aligner system and to help the restorative dentist understand how to best leverage aligner therapy in the restorative practice environment as well as when it is optimal to refer to an orthodontic specialist. A hands-on workshop will include setup of the SureSmile® Aligner account, review of the important tools, initial case workup, and understanding of patient flow.

Participants Will Learn:

  • SureSmile® Aligner system overview with demo of case
  • Workflow within the SureSmile® Aligner system
  • Strengths of the SureSmile® Aligner software in planning and managing the patient: displacements, global positioning, IPR
  • Orthodontic Basics such as tooth movement
  • Review of dental and skeletal envelope of discrepancies
  • Orthodontic treatment modalities with a focus on SureSmile® Aligners
  • Diagnosis and Treatment Planning:
  • Review the importance of skeletal and dental analysis in three planes of space
  • Lateral ceph tracing (case example)
  • Understanding of the role of the transverse skeletal relationship and key clinical identifiers
