Super Peg 2 for CEREC Doctors

I wanted to let everyone know about a product that I tried on the suggestion of a lab tech.  I was discussing with him the complaint that I get from people about getting the debris out from the inside of an emax crown after using the pastes that help dissipate the heat during firing.  I used to try and clean it with a steamer, or let it sit in an ultrasonic with alcohol for 5 minutes, or scrub the daylights out of it with a toothbrush and soap.  Doing any or all of those things still seemed to leave a bit of residue.  My lab friend turned me onto a product called super peg 2.  It is made from a company called Idenco.  You can find it on their website http://www.indenco.com. I have found that when using this, the firing paste either comes out clean, or if there is a bit of residue left, it rinses right out.  It is a vast improvement over any of the other products I have tried as far as easy of removal of that pesky post firing residue.

Isn't Superpeg 2 from Harvest Dental, which you can get from Patterson?Didn't think it was an Indenco product.

The Indenco product is VSP Refractory Putty.  It solves all the problems mentioned in the above post.

Jim, this blog is prob 4 years old so at the time patterson did not carry it

Coincidentally that is the same material Dentsply recommends if you need a little to peg Celtra. It is also the same material as is packaged under Sirona in the starter kits to peg the zirc.

Recycled blogs never go to waste!

Ok thanks guys.I use the Indenco product now, just never tried Superpeg before

Just tried the super peg samples from the show. It leaves either no residue or very little. Picks out like cotton. And I believe it is cheaper than object flow. Win win.
