CEREC inLab Course

I'm sitting in the airport after just leaving the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry taking the level 5 inLab course given by Mike Skramstad.  I'm used to being out at the center helping with the courses, so this was a rare opportunity for me to be able to sit in as a student totally off the clock.  I have taken lots of courses and this has to be right up there with the best courses I have taken.  With the release of the Omnicam last month, there have been many discussions with threads on ROI for CEREC.  People want to try and break it down by asking how many crowns you do a month,  what is your lab bill cost, how much each material costs to use and lots of other variables.  I now realize that by getting the inLab software, it totally changes the dynamic of how to utilize this amazing technology to help lower overhead in your practice and increase your bottom line with all the new techniques that I will be able to add using my CEREC unit.  Skramy has such incredible content in this 2 day lecture it is just mind boggling.  We learned how to make implant abutments, maryland bridges, how to stack mill along with lots of other exercises.  We also had a lab tech from ivoclar there to teach us how to characterize and create natural texture for our anterior restoration.  This is going to be so helpful and really take my anterior restorations to the next level.  I have been part of the cerecdoctors.com faculty for 4 or so years now and I certainly know what is is like to have to honor of being associated with an incredible place like the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry.  What I may have lost a bit of perspective on is how great it is to be a student in this educational facility.  I know I always joke and call it Dental Disneyland for our profession, but it really is.  It is a magical place that provides the highest level of education from the facility to the faculty and staff,  and all the way down to the food.  It is such a special experience taking a class there and being a student this past weekend really reaffirmed to me how impressive taking classes down here is.  I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mike Skramstad.  You are a fantastic teacher and an even better friend.   It really was an honor to sit and learn these last 2 days in your class.  Level 5 is a can't miss in my eyes.  Great work!!
