Full Root Canal Walkthrough – Access to Obturation

Learn how to create a conservative yet effective endodontic access cavity that preserves tooth structure while maintaining straight-line access to all canals. This video walks through a complete root canal case from access preparation through obturation using Wave One Gold and the GuttaSmart system.
- Isolate the tooth with a rubber dam, adding an OpalDam when you need a tighter seal.
- Create a conservative access with a diamond access bur, then refine it with a pulp shaper bur.
- Confirm working length and patency with a number 10 hand file, then open the coronal third with a ProTaper SX Gold.
- Create a glide path with the WaveOne Gold Glider, rinsing and recapitulating between each instrument.
- Shape to full working length with the primary WaveOne Gold file, then take a master cone film.
- Do a final rinse with sodium hypochlorite followed by EDTA, then obturate with the GuttaSmart system using continuous wave and a backfill.
