Predictable Anterior BioCopy

This was a case we tackled this morning. The patient wished to improve her smile. The plan was for crowns across teeth #6-11. At the initial visit last week we took impressions to have a wax up created.

Pre-op

The wax up is scanned into the BioCopy folder prior to the patients arrival to the office. Now COPY the contents of the BioCopy folder into the Upper folder. You will have exact duplicate data.

After the preps are completed. Use the cut tool and cut out teeth #6-11. Now image the preps starting slightly posteriorly and you will obtain a 1/2 stone and 1/2 human patient working model. Take the buccal bite and lower scans as well

After drawing the BioCopy lines the resulting proposal is a duplicate of the wax up. This has been a very predictable technique for me when doing my huge "Rhode Island makeovers" of 2, 4 or 6 anterior teeth. This was done in 4 hours. I'll post the finals after she stops hemorrhaging.

Bob,

Do you have an east coast lab do your wax ups?  Looking for an upgrade....

Do you have a photo of how you outline the biocopy. I never seem to get decent results with biocopy and end up aborting and choosing individual/biojaw. Proposals of biocopy are either winkled or too out of shape to use. Wondering if you had any issues like this?

Case looks great! Thanks big grin

Awesome Bob. Looking forward to the finals.

Is the waxup hand made by you or by a lab?

Are using Ortho scan at all?

Are you doing alot of contouring in "bluestate"?

Jeff - Jon Brooks at Smile-Vision Dental Lab in Newton, MA is the best in our area. He is a beta tester on the InLab side and just a great guy. Very talented. That being said, I use Glidewell for wax ups. The work I do is meat and potatoes. Which brings me to another point. BioCopy is great for achieving the essence of the design you are looking for. You do still need to use the tools to smooth and contour, but I find it easier and more predictable than BioIndividual even with BioJaw.

NICE CASE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEE FINAL PICS!!!!!!
