CEREC 4.2 and E.Max Abutments

With the CEREC V 4.2 software on the horizon and fabricating chairside abutments now a reality for all CEREC dentists, I would like to revisit the new e.max CAD abutment blocks.  There are two blocks that are going to be available soon: the A 14 MO and the A 16 LT.  The (L) and the (S) represent the size of the TiBase (Large or Small) being used for the restoration.  You can reference what size tibase and abutment block (meso) are needed by reviewing the blog titled Restoring Implants With Crowns Sirona TiBase by clicking HERE.  To determine which block you need will depend on if you are going to make a cement retained crown (Hybrid Abument) or a Screw retained crown (Hybrid Abutment Crown).  The MO block is specifically made for Hybrid Abutments (splitting the file) and the LT block is made for Hybrid Abutment Crowns.  Both will come in multiple shades.  Also, as you can see from the image, there is a new pin required to crystallize the abutments (fits in the screw access hole without touching the sides).

This is an exciting time for all of us CEREC fanatics and this is one exciting product.  I for one cannot wait to share the process with everyone.
