Custom implant abutments and hybrid abutment (screw-retained) crowns are gaining popularity among CEREC users since the release of the Chairside v4.2 software earlier this year. The question often arises on how to properly cement the ceramic to the titanium base. Available in Europe since April, Multilink Hybrid Abutment Cement is now available for use in the U.S.

Multilink® Hybrid Abutment is a self-curing luting composite. It is suitable for the permanent, extraoral cementation of ceramic structures on the tibases in the fabrication of hybrid abutments or hybrid abutment crowns.

When used with Monobond Plus universal primer, Multilink® Hybrid Abutment is capable of establishing a strong, stable bond between the ceramic abutment made of  e.max or zirconium oxide and the titanium base.

The cement is available in MO (medium opacity) and HO (high opacity). It would make sense to use the HO for most applications to block out the grey of the tibase. Another fine product from our partners at Ivoclar.
