Verifying Implant Position in CEREC Software

One of the most critical aspects of using Sirona’s Scanbody/Tibase system is accurate placement of the Scanbody on the ScanPost when imaging. This relates to the software implant location, timing, angulation, and depth.

From time to time, the implant position will not get transferred correctly to the software. Some potential causes include:

                • Scanbody not properly seated on ScanPost

                • Scanbody is distorted

                • ScanPost is not properly seated in the mouth

                • Implant Analog rotates when pouring up impression (if done indirect).

One hint to help is to take an intraoral picture of the ScanPost and make sure the male notch of the titanium base is in the same location in the Model/Design Phase of the software. This ensures you have accurately transferred the position of the implant to the software.
